The story behind the Bravo Bell's purpose dates back to an old gray-beard biker traveling back from Mexico on a cool desert night with a full moon. He had his saddlebags full of trinkets for the kids at home and his biker friends, and everything seemed perfect. However, he was unaware of the Gremlins waiting for him.

These Gremlins laid out traps on the road or deployed invisible devilish devices to break the biker's bike. They herded the biker, causing a coyote to rush onto the road just as the biker rounded a sharp turn. The biker skidded and went down, waking up in a ditch to see the Gremlins moving towards him. His saddlebag had been torn off and lay next to him.

In a desperate attempt to fend off the Gremlins, the biker started throwing things from his bag. The only items that seemed to scare the Gremlins were the bells he had bought for the children. Grabbing the bells, the biker was amazed to find that the ringing sound confused the Gremlins. Fortunately, a couple of other bikers heard the bells and followed the sound, yelling to frighten away any animals and rescuing the old gray-beard.

Grateful for the rescue, the biker cut some tassels off his saddlebag and used them to tie a bell to each of the rescuing bikers' bikes. He explained how the bells would warn off the Gremlins, and if they were ever in trouble, they could ring the bell for help.
